Spiritual Formation
To build spiritual giants is no small task.
It is not only our responsibility, it is also a biblical mandate from the wisest man to ever live, his name was Solomon. In his wisdom book called proverbs he wrote:
Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
Training is not easy. It requires commitment, precision and a plan. More than instruction, kids are watching our example. They aren’t looking for a mantra to say, they are looking for a model to follow. How you live is the greatest gift of spiritual formation you can give your kids. In this module we are looking at the spiritual formation of your children. My discipleship, my theology and my faith journey are all rooted in first hand experience I had with God, and witnessing how my parents lived their lives. How my parents lived their lives shaped the early stages of my spiritual formation. I want to share with you some practical ways that you can help your child grow to be a strong spiritual giant who is able to withstand whatever the world might bring them.
There are three main areas: Prayer, Bible Reading and Church Involvement. Let’s dive into them together!
